About Me

I am Dr. Kat Robinson, N.D. a board certified Traditional Naturopathic Practitioner, Certified Yoga Therapist, Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher. I believe that true health comes from the 4 areas of Primary Food which are relationships, career, spirituality, and exercise as well as what goes on our plate.

When we start on the path of a healthier lifestyle I believe it needs to be in steady, sustainable steps. At my center we offer you the support you need to reach your goals step by step by looking at the principles of natural and holistic health.

We approach good health with a philosophy of bio individuality. Your exercise, nutrition and lifestyle should fit your personal needs and goals.

Good Health is Not an Event        free-yoga

With a holistic approach to wellness we know that good health is not an event but something that we take sustainable steps to achieve everyday. Our bodies are constantly adjusting and readjusting to achieve balance. When we create an environment that is cohesive to healing we achieve that balance. Whether it be meditation, reiki, chakra balancing or reflexology taking a holistic approach along with mainstream medicine gives you a one-two punch advantage in your own health.

Nourishment  Does Not Always Come From Food

My approach to good health focuses not ony on the food we eat but also the other aspects of life from which we receive nourishment. We look at Primary Food as well, which consists of your relationshps, career, spirituality and exercise. We know that no matter how well you eat, you will never be at your best if your relationships suffer, or if you have a job that you dread going to everyday. We would never encourage you to quit your job or divorce your spouse, but we will look at ways to make it work for you if possible to bring you to optimal health.

Most Will Not Consider Their Health Until They are Sick group-friends-having-fun-beach-summer-holidays-vacation-happy-people-concept-34601196

Most people never consider their health until they start showing symptoms, but the reality is most of our wellness happens everyday of our life. From how we eat and sleep, how much water we drink, how we handle stress, to how we get along in our relationships. The fact of the matter is, you have phenomenally more control over your health than anyone else, every choice we make is opportunity to feel well.

You Are What You Eat

Though we know every aspect of life nourishes us, some of the best medicines you can get are right on your plate. If you eat a well balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and compassionately raised meat you may never face many metabolic dis-eases. Of course, there are no guarantees, but the likliehood is much lower.

This is no easy task, as it is hard to know for sure which foods are working for your body and which are chemicalized junk full of fat, salt, sugar, that could be harming you and even biologically addictive. The first step is learning to shop and cook for yourself, this puts you in the drivers seat of what is going into your body instead of having to guess at every bite.

During my training at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition I learned over 100 dietary theories. Why are there so many New York Times #1 Bestsellers on dieting? Why does it seem that a low carb diet works for some and for others it makes them feel completely depleted? Because what works for one may not work for others. We offer access and encourage pertinent lab tests and markers to help you realize exactly what you should be eating and avoiding. We look at Food Sensitivities, Vitamin D, Thyroid, and Metabolism. We may encourage hormone testing as well. We look at you as an individual with a unique set of biological, physical, and ancestoral markers to determine what uniquely works for you. We supply you with the tools to live your best life, from one on one coaching, exercise classes, holistic therapies such as meditation and reiki, to supermarket tours and cooking demonstrations.

nature as healer

Mother Nature is a Great Healer

Learning to garden and grow your own plants is a very important part of the health equation. Whether it is gardening in flower beds, vegatable gardens, or in containers on your balcony, getting your hands in the dirt has many health benefits. Many bacteria that is essential for our microbiome to function properly to essential nutrients like vitamins and minerals come from just putting your hands in the dirt. You will also have the reward of enjoying the plants you grow. And remember, we need all five elements, earth, air, water, light, and space.

We Are Not Just the Physical  Energetic-Body-300x225

In order to be truly healthy we much be healthy on all levels not just a physical body. We are also emotional, mental, spiritual and energetic bodies, if one or more of these areas of being are suffering so will the physical. Activities like yoga and meditation have shown to create a better quality of life and clinical treatment outcomes in those from cardiac care to cancer. Just a few moments a day quieting the mind and taking some deliberate breaths can be very useful tools in your own well being.

getting healthier The Future of Medicine

I believe the doctors of the future will need to be knowledgable in functional and holistic methods of health care. More and more people are seeing that they have more control than they realize when it comes to their wellness. As a Doctor of Naturopathy I cannot diagnose, treat, or cure, but I can work closely with your primary physician to help keep you on track.
